What does the Quran say about dogs?
Not only 1-2 times, the Holy Qur'an mentions dogs 5 times and nowhere does Allah Almighty say that they are unclean animals or do not treat them well, but still in the Muslim society of the subcontinent, dogs are looked down upon.
-------------------------------------------------------- ⦿ Dogs are man's friends: In the 16th surah of the Qur'an, there is a story about a group of young men who stayed in a cave for fear of being punished for converting. God kept them asleep for 300 years and when they were asleep a dog was sleeping with them. If that dog did not interfere with the grace of God showered on them, then I do not understand how the dog will cause problems in my worship! Allah the Almighty does not mention anything except purpose. Through this incident, God wants to show us that dogs are man's faithful friends. Even in the surah in question: • "Surely in this Qur'an I have explained to man my words by various similitudes, but man is the most argumentative of all" (Qur'an-18: 54). May receive grace and his help. If Allah disliked dogs, He would not have mentioned in the Qur'an the dogs standing beside the pious. If we really want to expect God's grace, we need to be well-informed about His qualities. If he says something, he says it because he doesn't like to say less important things! If the Creator did not curse the dog, then He wants to show us that He created this beautiful creature and He expects us to take care of this beautiful creature so that we can receive His grace like those people in the cave. Dogs are not forbidden around Muslims, and it is clear that God created dogs as an integral part of human life.
-------------------------------------------------------- ⦿ God's grace and angels were revealed in the presence of the dog: He changed the side of the Companions so that the young men of the cave would not be wounded by their sleeping position. "You would think they were awake, but they were asleep. I would turn them to the right and to the left. Their dog had its front legs spread to the two caves. There was something else to change their side that people may be frightened to see, and those whom Allah speaks of in the above verse are "angels". This means that the angels used to walk in front of the dog standing at the entrance of the cave. If the angels really hated dogs and if the angels did not come where there are dogs, then the angel of death Azrael (AS) would never come to the house of those who kept dogs. The young men of the Companions of Kahaf kept the dog with them and the dog was engaged in their defense. Through this incident, Allah wants to teach future generations that dogs can live around people. Even in verse 22 of Surah Al-Kahf, Allah has counted the dog among the righteous people of Al-Kahf.

⦿ The saliva of the dog is not unclean. They ask you, "What is lawful for them? Say, 'The sacred things have been made lawful for you.' You have been taught. Eat of the prey that has caught you, and chant the name of Allah over it. Fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is swift at reckoning. "(Qur'an 4: 5) If a halal animal is hunted, it is permissible to eat it without sacrificing it. It is worth mentioning here that Allah wants us to train dogs for hunting (Subhanallah) then it is understood that the saliva of dogs is not unclean.
-------------------------------------------------------- ⦿ In the Qur'an and Hadith, Allah has praised many dogs and described their qualities. The dog companions defended the pious people of Kahf and it is their natural duty to protect the people. 2. If a dog is hunted by humans, it is permissible to eat it without sacrificing it. Through this, Allah the Almighty has mentioned the greatness of dogs. 3. God wants us to train dogs to hunt. 4. Hadith 3467 of Sahih Bukhari mentions that Allah forgave all the sins of a prostitute because she gave water to a thirsty dog. This hadith shows how much Allah loves His creation and forgives only a dog To get drunk! (Subhanallah) There is no other hadith where any other animal is addressed in the same way as the dog is addressed here.
-------------------------------------------------------- ⦿ Allah has given a special group of people a characteristic of a dog, because: In verse 176 of Surah A'raf, Allah has accused a person of following his instincts despite believing in him and his example is like that of a dog. Here Allah mentions a man to whom He gave wisdom and because of wisdom he knew Islam was the true religion but he did not accept Islam. "Of course, if I wished, I could have exalted him above all the signs. But he was a degenerate and a follower of his own ruckus. So his condition is like that of a dog; Those who deny Our revelations, so narrate these stories so that they may reflect "(Qur'an-7: 176). Allah the Almighty has given dogs a characteristic which is that the dog sticks out its tongue to get something and they are not ashamed of it but Allah has given man the ability to think so that man does not blindly follow his instinct to get something. Here, Allah mentions the panting nature of the dog because the dog does not have a distinct thinking power like the human being, so the human being should think and do something. So we should use our knowledge and wisdom to be sympathetic to God's creation. Dogs are God’s creation and nowhere does God speak of killing people inhumanely and unjustly towards them! No creature was created without purpose. It is the sole duty of every human being to respect all of God's creation, and if we treat any creature unjustly, we will have to suffer severe punishment in this world and in the Hereafter, and there is no doubt about that. Nowhere in the Qur'an-Hadith is there any bad talk about dogs, so your anti-dog behavior is not recognized in Islam.
